Mr. Roach is currently Managing Partner of Smith Anderson, a Raleigh, North Carolina based law firm. His practice involves public company securities, domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance matters, private financings, technology law and advising boards of directors and special committees. Gerald regularly represents public and private growth companies and private equity firms with their general corporate needs and domestic and international transactions. Prior to being named in 2016 as Managing Partner for a three-year term, Gerald served for 15 years as Chair of the firm’s Policy and Planning Committee and Team Leader of the Corporate practice. Gerald has advised the pharmaceutical services industry for over 25 years.
Gerald is involved in numerous professional and charitable organizations, including Past-Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association (Business Law Section) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wake Forest University. Gerald also served on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center from 2007 to June 2018. He received his B.A Degree from Wake Forest University as well as his Juris Doctor Degree.
