The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) welcomes Javara as the first site supporter of the ACRP ‘Partners in Workforce Advancement’ (PWA) initiative.
PWA is a groundbreaking new initiative to expand the clinical research workforce by bringing together a broad coalition of clinical research stakeholders focused on creating a sustainable workforce for the future.
“We are excited to partner with Javara on this critical initiative,” says Jim Kremidas, ACRP Executive Director. “We believe that in clinical research, people are everything. Without an adequate pipeline of qualified, competent professionals, our community will fail both to sustain the workforce and to improve the efficiency and quality of medical discovery.”
“Javara is proud to join Partners in Workforce Advancement (PWA),” says Jennifer Byrne, Founder and CEO of Javara, Inc. “As we strive to better integrate clinical research within value-based healthcare, it is critically important that we build a sustainable workforce of skilled, compassionate clinical trial navigators. As a member of the PWA, we will work to create an education-driven pathway so that clinical research is seen as a strong career option for healthcare professionals and better attract students interested in contributing to health and wellbeing. Not only will the work of the PWA improve the quality of clinical trials, but also greater professional advancement will serve as a catalyst for getting new treatments to patients faster and with greater value.”
The clinical research enterprise continues to struggle with high turnover, quality and performance variance, and a growing demand for more skilled, competent professionals. At the root of these issues is a lack of awareness of clinical research as a career option in the healthcare and life sciences communities.
“Organizations employing clinical research professionals of all types agree – the first step in creating a diverse and sustainable talent pool is to ensure that healthcare and life sciences students are aware of clinical research as a career option,” Kremidas adds.
As its flagship project, the PWA will develop and implement an industry-wide campaign to increase awareness of clinical research as a career option among healthcare professionals and students.
