Javara’s most recent event featured three practicing pediatric physician investigators: Dr. Ron Blair (Privia Health), Dr. Tequilla Pryor (also of Privia Health), and Dr. Katie Smentek (Mankato Clinic).

Led by Javara Medical Director, Dr. Colleen Tenan, our esteemed panelists discussed all things pediatric clinical trials, from the unique barriers of enrolling pediatric patients to the role of parents and guardians in conducting impactful clinical trials in this setting.

Understanding the Nuances of Conducting Pediatric Clinical Trials

Leaning on personal experience, our guests spoke of the imperativeness of trust among both patients and parents and the importance of physician feedback in protocol design, highlighting trials that parents would like to see more of, and creative tactics used to build trial awareness. They agreed however, that in this nuanced sector of clinical research, partnership with an organization like Javara has been invaluable to their practice. The ability to collaborate for enhanced patient retention and prioritize patient-physician relationships has been instrumental to fortifying the quality of clinical trial data.
