Susan Donahue Shares Her Retirement
Javara’s very first employee, Susan Donahue, retires after 36 years in clinical research
Before there was a team, there was Susan Donahue. As we say farewell to Javara’s very first employee, we wanted to share a few extra special messages from the ones who most closely felt Susan’s impact.
From Stacy Jones:
Susan,
I can’t put into words how much I need to thank you for everything you have done. You have shared your knowledge and expertise in everything research/Javara. Thank you for always having an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on during vaccination seasons (LOL) Javara/Wake will not be the same without you. This isn’t goodbye, this is see you in the fall for a trial. 🙂
From Rosanna Bailey:
Susan, I am so grateful for the wonderful gift of getting to work with you! You have taught me so much about being a great coordinator and a great researcher. I am a better problem solver, navigator to our patients and investigators, and teammate because of my time working with you! Your contributions to our team are truly too many to count, but what I will miss most is your camaraderie and the laughs we shared. I wish you all the best in retirement and I can’t wait to watch you thrive in all of your adventures to come! You are delightful and I hope you will never forget it! 🙂
From Jo Brennan:
Susan,
It is difficult to put into words all you have done for me during our time here at Javara together. You have shared your knowledge and wisdom with our team. You have lightened up our energy when things were not looking the best. Thank you for always being available even when I know you were very busy trying to understand all the different portals for Wake. Thank you for constantly showing us what the Javara standard is each and every day and how to not only be a better team member but a better person. Thank you for always listening to us and providing us with sound advice to help guide us to the next steps. It has been a privilege to work beside you, and I am honored to say you are not only the best boss I have ever had but a wonderful friend along the way. This is not goodbye; it is simply a see you soon. We cannot wait to have you in our trials this fall 🙂 Congratulations on an outstanding career!!! I hope you take some time to look back and be proud of yourself because you have dozens of team members who are emphatically proud of you.
Sharing all my pixie dust!
From Jennifer Byrne:
Susan, you have left an indelible mark in countless ways; as my most trusted and respected colleague, a true friend through thick and thin, as a role model for integrity, grit, and character. You are a lifelong teacher spreading your wisdom, care, and knowledge in every path and person you cross and clinical research is better and more trustworthy because of your work. You deserve the sun and all the stars in the universe, and I am so happy that you are now choosing a new chapter ahead that will be all yours! Much love and eternal gratitude for our journey together.
And to you, Susan:
There are not enough words in the English language to truly mirror the magnitude of your contributions. Thank you. Wishing you a very special congratulations on your retirement and we cannot wait to follow along as you begin this (beyond well-deserved) and exciting new chapter.
